Metal-Free Fillings
General dentistry is focused on preventing small dental problems from becoming more complex issues. Cavities, gum irritation, and tartar often go unnoticed until they cause pain or require more complex treatment.
We focus on keeping your teeth and gums healthy with gentle, thorough check-ups and cleanings. If any issues are detected, we’ll explain them clearly and provide options to address them, so you can make informed decisions about your oral health. Our goal is simple: prevent problems before they start and make every visit as comfortable and stress-free as possible.
Preventative Care
Preventive care is the foundation of a healthy smile. Regular check-ups and cleanings stop small issues from becoming painful or costly. Many problems develop quietly, which is why routine care matters — it keeps your teeth and gums healthy without surprises.

Children’s Dentistry
We know dental visits can be stressful for little ones. Our dentist and team take special care to make kids feel safe, understood, and comfortable. Positive experiences early in life help children feel confident about dental care as they grow — and every brave little patient receives a certificate of bravery to celebrate their visit!
For children who are anxious or need extra support, we also offer paediatric sedation in partnership with Dr Willem Minnaar. It’s carefully managed to ensure your child is safe, calm, and comfortable.
Metal-Free Fillings
Our metal-free fillings are tooth-coloured, safe, and durable. They can be used to replace old metal fillings or to treat new cavities, blending naturally with your smile and preserving as much healthy tooth as possible. Many patients choose them for a cleaner look or to avoid metal in their mouths.

Our Approach to General Dentistry
Individual care first
We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all dentistry. Every patient is assessed individually — considering oral health, past dental history, and lifestyle — to prevent small issues from becoming bigger problems and ensure care fits your needs.
Education is key
Understanding your teeth and gums is the first step to keeping them healthy. During check-ups and treatments, we explain what’s happening, why it matters, and how to maintain good oral health at home.
Partnership in care
Healthy teeth and gums are a team effort. Following home care advice, attending regular visits, and communicating openly with us ensures the best outcomes for you and your family.
Structured, reliable processes
From booking appointments to follow-ups, our systems are designed to make visits predictable and hassle-free. Questions? We’re here to answer them promptly.
Frequently Asked Questions
What can I do at home to prevent cavities and gum disease?
Brushing twice a day, flossing daily, and limiting sugary snacks go a long way in supporting good oral health and general dentistry outcomes.
How often should I come in for a check-up?
Most people do well with a check-up and cleaning every six months, but we’ll tailor it to your needs based on your teeth, gums, and overall health.
What’s included in a routine dental check-up?
During a check-up, we’ll examine your teeth, gums, and mouth, check for early signs of cavities or gum disease, clean your teeth, and discuss any questions you have and any additional treatments that you may need as part of your general dentistry care.
My gums bleed sometimes. Is that normal?
Occasional bleeding can be common, but it’s usually a sign that your gums need more attention. During your visit, we’ll check for gum disease and give advice or offer solutions to keep your gums healthy.
How do I know if my child is ready for their first dental visit?
We recommend bringing children in for a first check-up around their first birthday, or when their first tooth appears. Early visits help them feel comfortable with dental care and support good lifelong general dentistry habits.
My child is nervous about going to the dentist. What can we do?
We understand that dental visits can be scary for little ones. Our dentist and team take special care to make children feel safe and comfortable. For children who need extra support, we also offer paediatric sedation in partnership with Dr Willem Minnaar, carefully managed to keep your child safe and calm.
Are old metal fillings unsafe?
Many people still have old amalgam (metal) fillings. While modern dentistry considers them safe, some patients choose to replace them for peace of mind, appearance, or if the filling is worn. We’ll help you decide what’s best for you.
How do I know if my old fillings need replacing?
During your check-up, we’ll assess your fillings and recommend replacement only if necessary. If replacement is needed, the procedure is gentle and usually takes about the same time as a regular filling
